My Story

Hi, my name is Alex Delooze. I was born and raised in a small village called Galston, located in East Ayrshire with my wonderful parents and sister. I was a fairly ordinary kid growing up, scootering, biking and playing outside, took a great liking to video games and technology. I never was much of an academic and was not a fan of school (like many!). I left school at the end of my fourth year of secondary school and that is where my journey to audiology and ear health began. I worked for a major optical retailer gaining great experience in working with patients and customers alike, it was here that I started progressing into audiology, taking an interest in hearing aids and how the ears work. I began studying at Queen Margaret University (QMU) in Edinburgh, studying hearing aid audiology and have since graduated and registered as a hearing aid audiologist with the HCPC.

Unfortunately, with my career- I was not feeling fulfilled, as if I could not make as big of a difference in the community that I wanted to. I decided to take a leap of faith, right out of my comfort zone to challenge myself,  and resigned from my full-time career and in late 2023, I decided to move house to live with my partner in Hawick, Scottish Borders and setup what I can proudly say, is my business, Delooze Hearing LTD. I am so excited to get to know as many faces as possible in the Scottish Borders and hope to be able to provide a great service to everyone. I even got to experience my first Common Riding event in 2024. I look forward to the future!
