No! Wax removal using microsuction is not painful. It is actually the safest method of wax removal. It can however be fairly loud and can occasionally cause a temporary disturbance to tinnitus.

Microsuction wax removal is seperate from syringing. Microsuction uses a small hoover like machine to suck the wax out of your ears, it is a completely dry procedure making it safe to use if you have perforations in your ear drums. It’s also a lot less mess! We do however, if needed use a process called Irrigation, which is a much safer and more controlled wax removal compared to syringing.

Great question, having a wax removal done can improve your current level of hearing if you have no underlying hearing loss.

Ear wax removal appointments cost £55, this is for one or both ears and includes a full ear health check to ensure your ears are happy and healthy.

If your appointment concludes that you do not need a wax removal, I will perform a health check and a £20 consultation fee will apply instead of the full charge.*
